A meeting of the directors was held twice and a meting of the executive directors was held 4 times.

The Spring and the Autumn Session of the Annual Meeting were held.

The Journal of Japanese Society of Periodontology (JSP. ISSN 0385-0110) is published quarterly per year. A special issue is published during spring and autumn.

Periodontal specialists are accredited by the Periodontal Specialist Committee, organized in October 1989. Applicants must be an active member of the society and have conducted therapy on more than 10 periodontal patient cases which were cared for well during the maintenance phase and including at least 8 of periodontal surgical procedure cases. As of March 31, 2011, the society had accredited and passed 905 doctors, 187 instructors and 87 training institutions.

The society not only imparts the exchange of informations with the International Academy of Periodontology, International Conference on Periodontal Research, and Anniversary Congress and Scientific Session of Korean Academy of Periodontology but also promotes exchange of scientific research with Asian Pacific Society of Periodontology.
